The X-Lakes is a “Not for Profit” hike and fly, vol-biv challenge run by pilots for pilots.

The competition will take place over the weekend of the 26th, 27th of June.

The aim is to:

  • showcase the Lakeland fells as an amazing ‘hike and fly’ venue
  • challenge fitness, mountain tactics and flying skills in ‘bagging’ as many 1,000 foot ‘Wainwright’ peaks as possible by foot or paraglider
  • facilitate a personal hike and fly or ‘vol-biv’ style adventure in an open competition where athletes will find the best within themselves
  • raise funds for local volunteer mountain rescue teams.

The event is a charity fundraiser in support of the Lake District Mountain Rescue Teams
